K-19: The Widowmaker
I just saw that movie tonight...
If the story is about a 1961 Cold War Era Soviet submarine, why did all of the crew members speak English? The movie is based on a true story, so did the original crew speak English, or did they do that just for the Movie so we can understand it? They could have used Russian and put in sub-titles to make it more realistic.

I'll go even further than that diskoe and say this movie was LAME! Yes that's with all capital letters. I can't believe all the positive reviews it's getting, it was slow, boring and at 2 hrs. 18 min. way too long. And Harrison Ford, as good as he is in the roles that suit him best (I don't think I have to mention them by name) was not good with his Russian accent. And, to me the most annoying error of this film, is them telling us that if the submarine's nuclear reactor melts down, it will cause a thermonuclear explosion! Sorry, the laws of physics don't work that way, I can't get past such a glaring mistake that is intended solely to give the already slow plot some inertia.
In addition to seconding the criticisms already voiced, the movie was hardly based in truth. So many things were different that it is highly deceptive to call it a true story. Personally, I think that sticking to the truth would have made a better (and more dramatic) ending anyway.
