Just caught it the other night - interesting movie.
Made in 1993, when Brad Pitt, David Duchovny, and Juliette Lewis were all just getting hot. Duchovny and his girlfriend are a writer and photographer on a cross-country trip cataloguing scenes of mass murder...they need to share expenses and that's where Pitt and Lewis come along. One problem: Brad Pitt's a murderous psycho.
Good flick; Pitt does violent white trash really well. I had one BIG problem with the movie, but it's a spoiler so I won't bring it up right now.
Anyway, it's got good acting, good action, and it was fun to see the actors in the early stages of their careers.

True. Great movie. However...
**********SPOILER ALERT******************
At the climax, when Duchovny clocks Pitt in the face with the shovel, shouldn't he have finished him off? Yes, he should. But he didn't - he DROPPED the shovel and went looking for his girlfriend, allowing Pitt to get back up for one climactic fight scene.
That gets old real fast - the good guy always drops the weapon. Total cliche.
Other than that, great movie.
