Isn't this based off the Anime (loosely stated) that was on Nickelodeon? Can't remember the exact name but I'm pretty sure it is.

its produced under nickelodean studios so I'm assuming so.

I cringed when I thought twice about it. They are mixing M. Night Shamalyalsdjflakns and a kids tv show.

M Night Shama-lomma-ding-dong should be banished from movie making forever.

"The Happening" should have been the last nail in his well-shut coffin.

yes it's based off of the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender

anyone can guess why it wasn't able to be called Avatar! LOL

anyway, the 'anime' was actually REALLY good, which is likely the reason why it was spotlighted into a hollywood movie. It's got really good characters, a decent story and lots of humor.

I question the casting of all things...but the look of the movie is pretty close to the cartoon, which is good.

Yeah, The Happening blew chunks. I think his best movie is Unbreakable, followed by Sixth Sense and Signs. The rest....Uggh.

For those interested and who have Netflix, you can watch the first season of Avatar on Watch Instantly. I got hooked on it.

i just saw a new trailer for this movie and it got my hopes up again. it shows the ice ball the avatar was frozen in and fire and ice benders going at it! I hate it when they do this....it LOOKS good for now, but i know being a hollywood movie, that there are probably some dumb changes they made to the story. I just hope it's not horrible.
