Default Lucy

Saw Lucy the other night- i recall the trailers looking pretty good. As a science fiction fan i thought the concept looked pretty cool. And it certainly held promise for the first 15 minutes.

Well, the execution left much to be desired. the story moved at a strange pace. Ok, it is sci fi so you need suspend your beliefs in certain things- but this was not good sci fi. Morgan Freeman played the intelligent science guy. again. His scientists seem to have no fear of big guns. The antagonist is pretty cool in the beginning, but then I just didn't care as time went along. The police officer who helps her out just comes out of nowhere and no story line develops deeply there either.

It just was an odd movie. The ending scene reminded me of live action version of AKIRA. For the uninitiated, AKIRA is preeminent early anime.

I give it 4/10. really, if you must see every scarlett johansen movie then go ahead. otherwise, leave it.

haha... I felt the same.
The trailer made the movie look good and I really wanted to see it in theatres... thank god I didn't.

The movie started off good... up until she got her "powers". Then it all started to go down hill. At the end of the movie I was like wtf did I just watch?
There was so much potential with the concept but the execution was horrible.

I thought it was entertaining. I'd give it more like a 7/10 if you don't think too hard on it. Otherwise the plot does leave a lot to be desired.

The movie was about a 6-7 for me until the ending which took it straight to a 2.

I watched this on a plane a while back, it's good for a time kill but just a bad movie imo.

it is easily foregetable, and it's not new territory. Visually pleasing, but no real plot to remember or follow. Cardboard characters.
I expect more from Luc Besson, 5th element, leon, etc. 4 outta 10 cause i like to look at scarlet and the bad guys getting theirs is always entertaining.
