MATRIX RESURRECTIONS...adding more
We just got back from watching MATRIX RESURRECTIONS at a mostly empty theatre. Here in Ontario, new covid rules state we can't buy from concessions and have to keep our masks on for the entire movie...but thankfully, we can still go to the movies. But I'll get back on track.
The original MATRIX came out in 1999 and remains ground breaking science fiction- I mean as significant as the original Star Wars or Alien or Blade Runner.
Done by one of the Wachowski brothers...er...sisters...with input from the other (now a) sister (Karin), this MATRIX chapter continues the story of Mr. Anderson. It really keeps you guessing on what is reality and is the real world actually the Matrix? Many characters return to join the cast.
The story is told really well, and explains most all of your questions that come up during the movie. It also leaves the door open for another chapter (go figure) with the French man likely the link. I'm really pleased that someone else didn't take the reins and that the Wachowski's kept on. There's lots of nods to the original three, but it helps to have a basic understanding of the Matrix. Understandably, subsequent chapters have had less impact compared to the original.
I give this a 7/10 (with the original Matrix 10/10
). Its fine for anyone over 12 yrs old.
