A Most Wanted Man
Saw it this weekend. Hoffman plays a German intelligence operative tracking two Islamic immigrants in Hamburg to see if they are up to no good. The movie builds slowly and methodically and has a fairly intricate plot. It was done by the guy behind Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy although this is a far superior film.
It is a very good movie and I recommend it highly however it is something that you really have to pay attention to and is far more of a thinking movie than pretty much anything you will see this summer. It is sort of the anti-Transformers 4.
While I enjoyed it thoroughly, I could not help but sit back and watch how great Hoffman is n the whole film and you can not stop thinking about how huge of a loss it is that he is gone. While the man was responsible for his own demise, he is still one of the downright best actors you will ever see and it shows in this movie.
If you are up for a slow thriller, but one that is really well acted and constructed, this might be for you.
