Default Rush (2013)

This is based on Niki Lauda's crash and return to F1 in 1976. Looks promising. . .

It's Ron Howard/Imagine/StudioCanal+, you'll see it in a theater, just maybe not the one closest to you.

just saw this today on the ultra AVX screen at the local Galaxy cinemas.

Absolutely a wicked good movie. Ron Howard knows how to tell a story and draw you in, even if he can't drive worth a crap (see Top Gear, season 20).

Without doubt, the actor who played Lauda (Daniel Bruhl- an unknown to me) will be up for best actor nomination come Oscar time.

do yourself a favour and see this movie in the theatre.

Saw it Friday night and it was truly excellent. There were moments where I suspect the actual conversations were more complex and nuanced than in the movie, but by-and-large, a really well-done movie. Also agreed that Dan Bruhl is a force of nature, and will at least see a BAFTA and/or Golden Globe nod (not knowing what's on the horizon).

Best Ron Howard car flick since Grand Theft Auto.
