I assume we'll see Marv's mother in the extended DVD version? I mean, the rest of it was so faithfully transferred to the movie.

maybe she will, maybe she won't. I don't think it was that crucial of an element, to understanding the story.

Um....I know I am late to this thread but I thought I would be the voice of dissent on this one. I thought it was ok.

I really wanted to like it, thought the trailer looked very cool, etc.

The movie is essentially three seperate stories taking place at roughly the same time. The Bruce Willis story, the one with Mickey Rourke, and the third one with that guy that is supposed to be the next Bond and Benicio Del Toro.

I was pulled into it at first and really liked the style, the visuals are excellent but after about the first hour, can't carry the film. I really liked the Bruce Willis storyline, and the Mickey Rourke one as well. Well done, very brutal at times and some good humor. I am also a big Benicio Del Toro fan but thought that that storyline was boring and long and pretty stupid. I kept looking at my watch throughout that one and although the movie was two hours it felt like three. Cut out that "old Town Hooker" storyline and I would have liked it much better.

I would have said this one is a rental.

Oh yeah........the demise of that Frodo dudes character is worth the rental fee though all by itself. Did not know what the rubber surgical tubing was going to be used for.
