This is a film that's been gaining momentum despite having no big name stars. It's filmed in India and is about a young orphan from the slums that ends up about to win the top prize on 'who wants to be a millionaire'. He's accused of cheating and the is forced to explain how the events of his life led to his knowledge of the answers.

This is definately one of the best films of the year (and I think of the past few years as well). For me, only Dark Knight was better this year, and that movie has a lot more things to keep mine and most peoples attention.
The story is very simple, but how it is told is simply amazing. If you consider yourself a movie buff, you owe it to yourself to get out and see this movie.

Saw it, loved it. I even liked the bollywood style dance number during the end credits. Touching movie.
My only one small gripe is that they foreshadowed the final answer too much. I knew the first time Jamal had the book thrown at him in the school what the last answer would be.
Still, I'd give the movie about a 9.5 out of 10.

danny boyle(the director who also directed "28 days later") did an absolute phenomenal job with the movie. easily the best movie i've seen in the past few decades. i would actually encourage everybody to go see it. it has all the great elements for a great film.
