Ok so I just came back from watching Cloverfield (which I thought was excellent, btw) and the teaser to the new Star Trek was showed. Although I'm not a trekkie, I was pretty excited about it! What you ya'll think?

I dont know if the new cast trying to replace the OG cast is going to fly.
Continue the spin-offs and try to create new star trek storylines but the disconnect people are going to have with the same characters being played by other actors is going to be too great.
Unless it is done so well that trekkies will be able to see past this fact, the film will fail completely.
