Can't wait for the movie. I really hope they keep to the original characters. All of the people that will see it will be the Transformer buffs from the 80's. Screwing with the original formula will make for dissapointed fans just like when lucas decided to screw with the original star wars. I just hope the producers are smart enough to know that.

Oh man, I was OBSESSED with Transformers as a kid. I loved Soundwave... I even have the god damn Mp3 of the opening song on my computer. I hope they don't F it up, but it will be strange to see a transformers movie.

So was I. They're treading on some sacred ground with the Transformers, IMO. They better watch out and hope they don't screw it up. The characters are already developed, just make them into a movie.

Just picked up some info off the net:

Diabetes of Don Murphy's Message Board posted that Peter Cullen, the voice of the original Optimus Prime, has already auditioned for the role of Optimus Prime in the new live action movie. Don Murphy confirmed this news a few posts further down. This does not mean he he has the part!
In a bit of interesting new The X Box 360 may be making it film debut of sort according to these reports.

The New Transformers movie that wll be out July 4th, 2007 brings the world of gamers into the picture. Robert Sanchez, the editor for the online entertainment publication, The Movie Reporter, who claims to have gotten a copy of the script cites a specific scene that may get gamers' attention:

"I almost forgot to mention one of the most stupid scenes in the script. For reasons that I won't get into, we see an iPod, Xbox 360, and plasma screens sprout legs and transform just a bit."

That an interesting idea including a Transforming Xbox. Definately good product placement. While this no final word on what will be in the release we will have to see what comes of it
and Sony will release the 20th anniversary DVD in November of this year with bonus footage and special featuers. From a news article:
