Just saw the first two episodes, not bad. I'll definitely keep watching, hopefully they keep it interesting. I don't remember anyone else making a zombies series so it could have potential or could fall on its face With so much similar crap on tv, I like this new Idea.

I also stumbled on this while channel surfing. Pretty interesting, especially for AMC - doesn't that stand for American Movie Classics, like Ole Yeller and Gone With The Wind?

I liked the zombie raid on the survivor camp. It was about time they put some more gore back in.

I have to play catch up on this series @ some point. The Sunday night time slot is no good for me.

Wink

it is done well enough to keep my attention. I like it.

As long as it does not insert things to keep certain segments of society happy, I think it will be just fine....so many shows lose it when they have to represent every political agenda out there in fear of NOT dealing with them.

Spoiler rich and polarizing text (click/swipe with mouse to read):

The race thing in the past two episodes actually is a valid issue because these survivors would actually have to deal with that issue when forced together.

They went a little funky with the La Raza angle last week. they presented them as a logical "force" that could be encountered in the grim situation they were all facing in Atlanta but lost me completely when they justified their existence based on protecting elderly people in a nursing home.

Come on!!! that was thin as hell and totally transparent as pandering.....lol

Why present a rational, completely believable and real opponent to the our star survivors only to turn that antagonist into heroes...it just did not make sense except to keep the Latino community from taking up arms and cry that they were being stereotyped.

This got me thinking they may devastate themselves if they are forced to film sequences to satisfy social agendas. Let a good thing just write itself. it does not need to tackle social injustice or the latest hot topic in america.

If a "brokeback mountain" couple show up and spout off about how they may now finally be able to share a married life together, I am going to turn off the show forever. Not because I disagree with the sentiment, but because my inner child will die from the realization that nothing in today's entertainment world can be produced without expressly representing EVERY segment of life on the planet.....

it does not make for enjoyable consumption of any storyline, if we all sit there and go: When is the black guy going to show up or when is the gay couple going waltz in, or when is the conservative going to dis the tree-hugger.

I really hope this show and many others can stop caring about advancing social issues and just make entertaining television.

I saw the pilot on Hulu, but haven't seen any other episodes. It was interesting, but I'm in no hurry to see the others. It seems like it's intended to be a prime-time soap opera type of show, with the zombie infestation simply a vehicle to drive character conflicts and the like. Similar to Lost, which didn't interest me either, or Stargate Universe. Instead of zombies, it could be any other dramatic situation, like the Dustbowl migration in the '30s. Only if it turns out there's a definite story arc they are wanting to tell will I continue watching.

season 1 seems to be all character intro and development....there has been little to no discussion of what actually happened or what to do with the few survivors.

real world scenarios have not come up too strongly...things like sustainable food sources, infrastructure, procreation etc have not come into any discussions...
