Did the car go down into the water, or just the trees?

Hit a tree about 10 feet off the road. The car hit at the pass door and basically split in half through the occupant area.

I searched all over the web for more information. The only thing I pulled up was the same link to tailofthedragon.com I will send an email to Ron and Nancy tonight and see if they can get the details to me or at least onto their board.

It can't be said enough. To lose an S2000 owner/enthusiast is never right and whoever they are, they will be surely missed and remembered.

UPDATE!

Sad news. Ron (from tailofthedragon.com) replied to my email request and was able to obtain more information. Here's what he sent me:

"Raul:

Here are the details

Two die in single car crash on NC 28 near the Dragon. Details from NCHP:
Driver of the 2003 Honda S2000 was Alexander V. Petrenko, age 22. Passenger
was Vladimir Petrenko, age 16. Both from Georgia. Vehicle was traveling
north on NC28 exceeding the posted speed limit and driver lost control in
corner, slid across the road, and impacted tree."

Also, I checked the last name for entires to any past S2000 events like DragonBall Run or Wake the Dragon and there's no match. I am contacting Erik (cthree) now to learn if we have an s2ki.com member with this name.
