Tech first thought 'gas cap' based on code as the code generically pertains to accord/civic line. However, as the same code threw again, this time the tech looked into it further and for our S2000...its more related to an issue with a fuel/emissions/vacuum line. Basically car is fine...just that Big Brother doesn't want gas vapors leaking into the atmosphere. So create a CEL code when tiny vapors do so . [Big Brother: "Oh...but PLEASE feel free to purchase as much super-unleaded fuel at $4/gal as possible, pumping tons of carbon emissions into the atmosphere...and in the process making me and all my rich oil tycoon buddies even richer!" ] <--Ooops! I seem to have gone a tad off-topic .

Anyway, I ain't worried about the stinkin' CEL now. And after WTD, I'll have my tech investigate whichever tiny-ass leak is upsetting the computer.

Dave - that's the same code I was throwing last spring. No idea why I'm not getting it this year (nothing notable has changed). But just forget abotu it and reset to get rid of the light. After a few more weeks it should stop. Been rainy where you're at?

Hey...do either of you remember "topping off" at the gas station?? Sometimes, if that happens (excessively), it can trigger the issue...

Been raining here? Yes...drizzly at best for the past week. Also FWIW, I run a CAI. Moreso, this has only occurred since the last fillup (IMO) as another 'cog' in the wheel. This morning (still with CEL from yesterday) I dumped a fuel system cleaner in the tank & filled up again. It was quite nice outside this afternoon. Sunny...mid-70s. Based on Habit's experience, I look forward to seeing this issue just 'run its course' with a change in the weather .

Thanks,
Dave

PS. Raul...we need to talk about the oil companies. Umm, you might just lead a sheltered life. Stop making Anna pay for all the fill-ups and you'll soon learn better

That's something I typically never do, so I wouldn't think so. but I couldn't say for sure at this point. IIRC, it did only happen with one tank of gas though. Interesting point.

No CAI here, but I remember it being rainy and humid during that time too. I think it leads to more extemes in the 'environment' the EVAP system sees, which tends to cause the issue.

This is probably a piss-poor explanation at what's really going on, but hey, that's how I see it!

Hope it runs it's course for you soon, Dave; and that I never see it this year!

Actually, that's true. Exxon/Mobil had about a 10% profit margin last year.

I was just thinkingof this when I gassed up last time. the usaul station I gas up had some new signs up advertising new fuel mix including 10% ethanol. Now I don't know anything about fuel chemistry, but I wonder if the combination of new fuel formula (winter mix to summer mix) and temp/humidity change ahs anything to do with it? I rather expect that it does.
