Alabama S2K Meet
A group of S2K from Alabama are going to head up to Waynesville, NC on June 14th - 18th to check out roads in that area. Some have never been in the area so this will be fun to let them experience the great roads for the first time. If anyone is in the area and would like to hook up with us please do. Here is some of the drives we will be doing.
Wednesday June 14th
Travel day to get to Waynesville, NC.
Thursday June 15th
We will do a drive around 9:00am around Waynesville on two great roads US 276 heading to Brevard, NC and then south on SR8 to Pickens, SC then heading north on US178 to Rosman, NC and CR 215 back to Waynesville. Total Route 137 miles or about 4 hours. If time permits we can do another road just north of Waynesville

Friday June 16th
We will do a day trip to the Dragon US 129 and surrounding roads around that area. We will need to be on the road by 8:00am to beat the traffic on the dragon. Then head out and check other great roads like US 28 Hell Bender and the Cherohala Skyway. Total Route 268 miles or about 8 hours.

Saturday June 17th
We are doing a day trip to Mount Mitchell, Little Switzerland, NC. This should cap off the last full day of driving some great mountain roads around Asheville, North Carolina. Total Route about 250 miles and the whole day.

Sunday June 18th
It would be nice to do a breakfast together before heading to the home people. Travel day home.

215, 276 along with 281 are a few of our favorite roads. We generally catch a couple of those on the way up or on the way home from the Dragon. We may bump into you, we will be traveling up that Saturday to spend the week camping with some friends. I don't think Tullie will allow me to take the S on this trip though. We've spent quite a bit of time camping, mountain biking and backpacking over the years in the Smokies and surrounding area. We love Waynesville and know of a few good eats there, and Maggie Valley. If you want suggestions hit us up. Have fun and be safe.

Tomorrow the road trip starts. It will be strange going up and not seeing the regulars during the Spring and Fall dragon meets. Weather not looking good but its always hit or miss. Should be fun with the Mamba back together with the new tranny, clutch and motor mounts. Going to be a challenge with the newbies on this trip but we should be fine. Not going to push them too hard lol. Later people.
