Default Alternative route in TN... The Snake.

Hopefully this information isn't already out there. I know motorcyclists use it but it's far less traveled than the Dragon and frankly it's a far better road. One might look into it as an alternative to the Dragon.

A bunch of us have driven the Snake a number of times. It's a really great drive.

This is a great road with pretty fresh pavement but it is a ways from Fontana if trying to do a day trip. We have caught it several times coming in from Marion VA direction.

I feel spoiled, I live in Knoxville now about 45 mins from The Dragon and my in-laws live right before the switchbacks on The Snake. My FIL complains about all The Snake drivers every time we hear them pass lol

There's a good website (probably several) listing "motorcycle" roads that I refer to all the time for driving the S2000 -- and avoiding when towing my travel trailer. Dozens if not hundreds of good ole country roads on this site.

Here is a map in jpeg format from WildRides.info. It's a map of Kentucky, WVA & VA.
