Default Camping at the Dragon?

I am brand new here and want to go to the dragon. Is anybody camping at all or is everybody staying in hotels? I love to camp but do not know the area and if there are good places to do that or not. Thanks

I think everyone (for the most part) is camping in a hotel.
Can't say I know of anyone who really camped at the last one....

Be careful going down side roads looking for random camping spots. Some of the locals don't take well to us "furrin-car" drivers. I'm sure there are legit camping spots around. Check the web:

looks like the gap allows tent camping, for bikers at least:

Thanks for the info, never really thought about the locals not caring that much about us there. Do not want to disappear when i am down there!

People camp along the lake on 129 all the time... but as Chiung pointed out, they may not take too kindly to "our kind". Though I think it's mostly kids just out their partying.

A big part of the fun is being at the hotel at night. I love to camp but enjoy watching everyone hurt themselves even more
