I am just trying to make up a budget and work up a plan.

Registration is usually $60 or so, and that includes lunch and dinner saturday.

Hotel cost is around $150 for the two nights, obviously there are plenty of people to split this cost with.

From Chicago, I'd expect to put around 1600 miles in; of which 1400 will be interstate/low speed highway/around town, and 200 will be aggressive driving. Gas is a bit cheaper as you go south, especially compared to Chicago.

Other expenses are pretty minimal - lunch and dinner Friday, Brunch sunday (unless coffee and donuts will tide you over). Booze on saturday.

Plan on taking Friday off. It's a bit of a haul to do in one night (been there, done that, won't do it again ).
