I was thinking Hyundai over Ford.

I've yet to hear anything good about Mitsu or Mitsu Dealers.

Well, Hyundai entered the market around the same time as Kia. Around that time, several people including myself classified them together as piece of crap vehicles. With their pricing and 100,000 Mile / 10 Year Warranty they are getting a rather good name. The quality of their vehicle is very quickly catching up to Honda / Toyota. I honestly that in the future (2010) that Hyundai will be ranked with Honda & Toyota for quality.

The Evo is a real fun car to drive. Like I've told a lot of people, the AWD Turbo System is just idiot proof - it really takes no skill at all to drive the car. It allows you to drive it very gentle, yet offers the joy of beating on it from time to time if you feel the need. Honestly, as a daily driver I love it, minus the reliability part. However, I definitely would not use it as my weekend fun car.

I haven't been too pleased with their service department. This is the second time I've had the vehicle in for warranty work - the first was for a driver-side cv boot replacement. Both times I had to call them an hour before they closed only to be told the vehicle will have to stay overnight, they are waiting on parts. In my eyes, they should have called me to let me know ahead of time so I could schedule transportation accordingly.

No, not saying Hyundai is bad. If I was in the market for cheap reliable transportation, I'd start there.

What's sad is how far Ford has fallen.

Oh, my bad! I mis-understood what you were stating. A lot of people still bad mouth Hyundai, I think they are coming along very well! After driving he Sonata V6 today - that might be a replacement vehicle if I decide to sell the Evo. It's nowhere near as fun, but it's very nice ride!

Hyundai Excel came to the states in 1986. Kia's showed up in 1994 and Hyundai bought most of their shares in 1998. The first Hyundai's were crap, but so were the first Toyotas (Toyota actually pulled out of the United States once - they're on their second run now). Many Hyundai's are already amongst Toyota and Honda in quality......I think what you meant to say is "reputation for quality". Unfortunately, that may be further away than 2010.

Did they really have that far to fall?

Bill Ford was relieved of duty. Maybe this will help them get back on track?

I'm not going to have the car back in time.

I went to look at it again yesterday, they(not Honda) have damaged both seats, center console, and door panel. I called my insurance adjuster this morning and told him it the car wasn't moved to another show (ABW) I was pulling it out of the body shop myself, parting it out, and buying another one. I refuse to take the car fro the current bodyshop as I have absolutly NO confidence whatsoever in their ability to properly repair it. Ontop of that, its almost been a month and all they have done is damage the car and not repair anything.... AND they have treated me like I know absolutly NOTHING about the car.

They piss me off enough I'll buy the first damn S2000 I can find... I have had it!
