I wouldn't say perfect.... however far superior to the quality and fit n' finish of Mitsubishi.
Quality, slight edge to Honda.
Where Mitsushitty fails though is in how they dealt with the problems on the Evo 8. They first denied there were problems, then blamed the owners for being abusive, and finally voided warranties of every car that was modded, auto-crossed, or just driven fast. Honda did some of the same with the 2000-2001 owners, but not to the same degree.

1-2 grind, decel buzz, lousy plastic window, fading tail lights, spark plug loosening, oil jet issue, CV joint accelerated wear... Nope, sounds pretty spotless to me.
Oil jets.. eh....

Never heard the 1-2 grind, spark plug, or cv issue - but I did have the decel buzz, plastic window, and faded tail lights.

Spark plugs on the 2000-2001 models could back up on their threads, then get sucked into the head. Happened to a couple cars, Honda cried foul, then issued a TSB to have them properly torqued.
CV joints on some AP1s were wearing out in under 30k miles... Honda pretty much okayed those repairs though.

1-2 grind, I don't know about... I think it was people used to slushy shifters more than anything. Trying to powershift, basically.

I had an early VIN 2000 - so I experienced the other things.
That really sucks the most about the Spark Plugs though.
