To conclude the clutch saga...turns out a bolt in the clutch assembly had "backed out" and was bouncing around in the bell housing, nicking a few things here and there. Apparently, the loose bolt jammed under something, causing my "total" clutch lockup in mid-shift on the Dragon. (Talk about adrenaline!) Anyway another bolt was also loose, the pressure plate was warped and several things were nicked up, with so the entire she-bang needed replacing.
Here's a pic of the offending bolt and one of the nicks:
The dealership I took her to Monday morning blamed it on the dealership who had replaced the clutch 2 years ago, so I called them. After much back and forth between dealerships, the Honda America rep got involved. Bottom line is, Honda came through and paid for the parts, and the repairing dealership only charged me "warranty" labor rates, so I figured I did pretty well.
KUDOS to Honda America for doing the right thing and saving me some serious $$$.
While taking a leisurely cruise back to the hotel along the Foothills Parkway, I stopped to enjoy the scenery at an overlook where a few other S2Ks had also pulled in. Suddenly we hear a woman yodeling and unfortunately we all looked to see what was going on. It was a local Seacow juggling her naked breasts while screaming with joy in what was luckily a fast moving van.
