All together after the Saturday morning roll-out and drive through the Dragon
Unfortunately, about half-way through the event, after hammering on my S2000 pretty hard, it developed a shake in the rear every time I accelerated. I asked around and found out it could have been my differential getting ready to self-destruct. Since I needed the car to get me back home (an eight-hour drive), I decided to back off and baby the car for the remaining day and a half. I didn't feel like I could keep up with the S2000 group without risking breaking something, so I went to Fontana Dam and met up with the Cobra event with my brother and our friends that own a Cobra.
My S2000 got me home okay and I've checked it out. Looks like the problem is a worn driver-side inner CV joint and not the differential. I'm checking to see if Honda will perform a goodwill replacement since there's a TSB on this problem. If not, I'll swap them left to right myself.
This is a Cobra with a 434 cubic inch small-block Chevy engine I followed on the Dragon. This thing sounded AWESOME! We met up again later at Fontana Dam.
The Cobra meet at Fontana Dam. Five Cobras showed up.

Shortly after this picture was taken my brother and I followed our friends in their Cobra on the Dragon's Tail. Just before we got to a corner where the police were set up shooting radar, the Cobra broke a rocker arm stud and starting making a lot of racket, so they shut it down and had to trailer it out of there. Too big of a cam and not beefy enough rocker studs. They're installing some hefty studs now and will be smoking tires again soon.
I had a great time at my first ever S2000 event (even though I had to limp along the last day and a half) and will definitely be back for more. Thanks, everyone, for making me feel welcome.
