Hey guys, I got a question. I'll be driving through the skyway and dragon next week and wanted some opinions on things for those that are familiar with the area.
- How's TN-39/Mecca Pike? Google maps suggests I route through there (coming from the south heading north), but Mecca Pike doesn't show up as a major artery (colored yellow on GMaps), it's fine right?
- After passing through Tellico Plains and through the skyway going East, Google Maps suggest taking 1159/Joyce Kilmer Road North towards the dragon. I can't see street view of this section so I can't judge how the road there is. Is that shortcut worth taking to bypass Robbinsville? Or am I better off following the road till it hits 129 at Robbinsville area? Reason I'm asking is 1159/JK Road isn't marked yellow in google maps, is it safe?
- Any advice for someone going through that forest for the first time? How's the locals there? How's the law enforcement there?
