They never get advertised range, unlee both parties are standing atop their own mountain peaks in perfect conditions. Along flat ground 1/2 mile is about typical. In the Dragon, about half a turn is typical...

I'll try and remember to bring both of mine. Really, in the mountains, range is no where near the stated range on the packaging regaurdless of radio, but you really need to have the "private channel" discrimination to effectively screenout all the extraious crap.
