DBRXI Banter Thread
Whoa!! A lot of issues here. Nevertheless, my first experience with the group was April's WTD. Loved it. I attended alone in April and am coming back with 4 S2000s for this event. I appreciate what the planning group has accomplished whether it was planned or recovered. I'm back at Fontana and pleased. I'm leaving on Monday and all of us Gulf Coast guys are relishing the extra drives; Little Switzerland, Gatlinburg, etc.
Yeah, this sort of high school crap seems to rear its ugly head every once and awhile. Both sides have their points, but once you strip it all down to its base element, both care about the event and want it to be a success. Each just has a different priority. One is about cost, and the other is about value. One knows that affordability can be a factor for many in (particularly the younger S2K members), and the other knows that if he "Walmarts" the event, it will never survive.
I looked hard at the cost issues, but as you all know, I don't really give a damn about money - it's just money - a tool, (or maybe I'm the tool)
For me, the cost of driving 600+ miles one way, losing a weeks work, to short change myself by $50 or $60 per day and be away from the event location just was not a good value, so I'm staying at Tapoco for Friday and Saturday. Anyway, Raul, you have always put together a terrific event - and from my experience the best S2K event on the east coast, if not the whole nation. Keep up the good work.
Wow, I'm lucky! Room reserved and Tapoco canceled. Raul, I must be living good. Really, since going to Stroudsburg to have my car tuned and being back at work dealing with all the drama around here from the storms, I haven't checked my e-mail since early yesterday morning. Rooms are going fast folks! Oh, and the lady at Tapoco sounded a little sheepish and a whole lot of sorry, if that means anything.

<-- I love this guy!
