One thing to consider is the "total package" or overall cost of the event. Maybe this will help your decision: The attached sheet provides some comparisons of the average cost for 2 people to attend 3 similar S2K events for 3 nights: S2KDays 2010, DBR 2010 and DBR 2011. The event costs are very interesting when you break them down!

For 2 people sharing a room (1 driver and 1 guest), DBRxi 2011 is estimated to be approximately 14% more than DBRX 2010 but 10% less than S2K Days 2010. They're all actually pretty close.

Of course, there are always options for cutting expenses at any event (such as lots of people staying in one room or cabin, staying off-site from the event headquarters, opting for fast food, etc.) but based on the assumptions listed, the event headquarters is a great deal!

Just some food for thought... Other lodging options are available too, of course.

thanks for the info - I wish I knew at this point where I would be on Thursday night, but my work schedule hasn't firmed up to the point. If I could be there by Thursday evening, I would likely stay there that night as well. I wonder how soon Tapoco needs to know if I want the cabin for Thursday night as well?

I put in my time off request yesterday. Up until now, there's been no problem getting time off..this time? I'm not so sure...I'm getting the "that's a bad time of the year to be gone because the new budget comes out ...." . So, fingers crossed
