Dear Dave:

I just noticed.... I think my digit issue is only on my right hand... I don't think my left hand acts up that way..... does this change my diagnoses to singledigititus?

Dear Single digit,

The right digit extended is the "normal" condition. Legend has it that at the Battle of Agincourt, when the English army defeated a numerically superior French Army, the King of England told his army, made up of mostly Welsh and English archers, that the French would cut off the two middle fingers of the right hand so they could never draw a bow again. The act of drawing an English bow, (nade of yew) was called "plucking yew". At the conclusion of the battle, the victorious English archers proudly held their extended middle finger to the French and yelled "We are still able to pluck yew." So the story goes and the tradition of looking your enemy in the eye and insulting him with an extended finger, shouting "Pluck yew"remains, (You were saying "pluck yew", right?) If you used the left digit, it really has no meaning. the Long Bow can be drawn with the middle finger of the left hand missing, so strickly speaking, it doesn't carry the same meaning as the extended right middle finger. So I guess what I am saying, is you have nothing to worry about. While your extended right middle finger is rude and insulting, at least it has true meaning and heritage. An extended left hand middle finger is, well, just ignorant.

yours in ancient myth,

Dave "Plucking Yew"

Dear Dave (no, the other one... no, not you... the other one):

Why Does "that" Dave have to try and answer my questions in the Dear Dave thread?

Why is Scooter surprised that he is confused?

That seems to be typical for him...

Dear "Not a Dave"

You seem to have a "Dave" problem. Unlike your "digititious" condition, this problem grows worse with time and there is no cure. As time goes on, you will identify more and more "Daves". Eventually, it overtakes you completely, and you become a "Dave". the condition is called "Daveitis" This condition can be fatal, or at least thats what my wife tells me.

Yours in sympathy,

THE Dave

PS. No not that Dave, the other Dave, the real Dave, not the other, other Daves!
