All her pic's are closeups.....

Can you offer a few suggestions for cameras..... maybe give a few different price ranges...... don't need a $1,000 camera, but would be willing to spend $300-$800 or so.

She has built her own lightbox to even out the light..... I really think she is enjoying this!

Thanks!
for fun? ha! we all know you're cracking the whip and running a jewelery sweatshop! great quality for a sweatshop though

thats good she made a light box, that will be a big help. does she have a flash already or just using some other type of light source?

since you're shooting close ups, i think a macro lens would be really helpful. you could probably getaway shooting with a 50mm prime as well. the macro would have a shorter minimum focus distance though, letting you get in nice and tight, but you can always just crop the 50mm.

has she tried using her current camera with the light box? its hard to suggest a camera because you might get lucky and find a good deal on some model i know nothing about, such as nikon (i shoot canon). basically what you would want is a well taken care of camera body and a quality lens, either a macro or a 50mm prime.

search craigslist and see if you see someone local selling so you can go make sure it works. or go here http://photography-on-the.net/forum/index.php and check their classifieds...ebay too maybe

oh also i hear that the new point and shoot cameras are really great quality, they might be pricey though. hope this helps...if you come across anything you're considering and can link me to it so i can check it out that might help

Here is what she is using for the light box..... its all hers! I had nothing to do with it! (and yes, I make her do this in the basement!)

I think the bulbs are 150 watt natural light?

There are actually 4 of the bulbs/reflectors being used.

She covers the reflectors sometimes..... other times not....
