Dragon Proof Video Cam

Very nice...too bad it won't be available until December...I was hoping I could use it for DragonBall Run...but I guess it'll be ready for WTD 2009!

I think that was last December (2007). I saw one in a raffle at Jay Honda in Cleveland this spring and they said they were selling them!
It is a nice, small unit. I wish the resolution was a bit higher. I would be better than hanging a $1500 HD camera on the windshield!

Hmm...you'd think they would update their site info...it indicates they are pre-selling with orders shipping December 1st.

I had the camera mounted on the side and headed down the road. When I returned 30 minutes later I found out the camera was shutting down on me after about 1.5 minutes. So I wrote to tech suuport at Go Pro and here is what they had to say....
We definitely don't recommend using alkaline batteries.
(This is what they included with the camera)
We highly recommend using NiMH rechargeable batteries OR Energizer Lithium batteries to get the best performance and longest battery life. In the cold, use only Lithium batteries as those are not as affected by cold temperatures. The Lithium batteries are not rechargeable however which makes the NiMH good to have in your battery arsenal.
Alkaline batteries are not ideal for digital cameras especially for video mode. Alkaline tend to have voltage drops which can cause the camera to go into auto-save mode before shutting down due to
