Hey Bill,

Question. Every now and then my I get a awful sound coming from the starter (upon hitting the start button) I have read that this is due to the starter shaft getting "stuck"

Is there a quick fix for this?

^ Don't hold down the start button as long. Just a quick tap should do.

If it happens @ cold start up it's common, no harm.

This usually doesn't have much to do with how long the button is being held. It's a common issue where im something gets stuck. From what I have learned, it's annoying but doesn't cause any harm.

Last time I talked to Bill, he was working on a redesigned starter (similar to how he's redesigned the TCT) to fix this problem. The coil that is supposed to pull back the starter pinion from engaging the flywheel is either not strong enough, or fast enough. I don't recall the exact details.

Anyway, it isn't something that you need to be too concerned about, and is mostly just an annoyance.

I believe he sets up in the parking spaces above the ball field/below the Wildwood Grill.

Close. Across from Wildwood Grill by the carwash station.
