THE CAR IS RUNNING!!!!!!!!

My wisdom in not running the car down before doing a thourgh "run in" has born itself out, and not in the area I would have expected. anyway, I am coming to DBR short of wrecking the car, I will be there. Now, having said that - I suppose the next thing I'll do is wreck

It's been a long road, I'm sure. Glad to hear she's finally running, Dave!!!! Can you give us a cliff's notes of what has been going on with it, and what the final solution was?

Apparently not! - the Airport Hilton was the site of WTD when it got really big - like 200 plus cars big! Anyway, that was the first Dragon event I was at and this will be the first time we have been back since the infamious "sea-cow" episode. Hopelully, Raul will be able to get a hand on the "Ohio" bunch so we don't get kicked out of the hotel.

We are probably immortalized in romance writers group as a bunch of immature frat boys, but thats ok cause, well, we are pretty much a bunch of immature frat boys.

cliff notes - the guy who put this collection of aftermarket "stuff" on his car is an idiot! But if you want to know what all the issues were well........

In the Spring of 2011 I had an experienced tech and garage install the "stock" version of the SOS supercharger - the FMC unit provided basically did not work well with my car soooooooo - In August/Sept. I had Evans install a smaller pulley and AEM ECU - he didn't torque the pulley down correctly and on the way to DBR, I spun the keeper out (but the pulley remained on the shaft semi tight) When I arrived at Knoxville, having been on interstate all day, I heard and percieved a "clunking" noise when I engaged the clutch. My miss-read as a clutch problem, parked my car at Airport Honda through the event. they were more than happy to soak me for a clutch job I did'nt need. Back on the road on the Tuesday after the event, I completely destroyed the pulley on the return trip home. I spent the winter dismounting and shipping clutch, SC etc for evaluation, and then remounting them, and then the gremlins came. The car would not run! Never have found out what that problem was, though I expect it may be a voltage problem with the wiring harness and the crank sensor. For now it works! the latest problem was my Ricks light weight pulley set failing (idler pulley bearing fail). Now, there may be other things that could happen - that's the adventure of aftermarket and boosted cars, but based on what I am seeing now, I'm over the "hump" of car problems (Oh, Lord please let it be so).
