Got home safe and sound and in time to pick up the pooch, although I cut it close! (5 minutes before they closed; woohoo!)

Guys, thanks SO much for a great weekend! Steve, the food was wonderful and the entertainment center was quite a step up from Fontana's usual audio/video options. It was "wonderfully usual" seeing old friends and adding a new one to the fold. (Hope to see you at WTD, Stan!)

Recap:

We had some great drives in spite of the weather. Friday started out damp, then dried out a bit, then more rain turning to sleet and then SNOW while on the Dragon. Great day to go back to the cabin early and indulge in a little poker and adult beverages. (Not to mention the great chow)

Saturday was mostly dry, but cold. Had a great run down 28 South to Franklin, stopping first at the Nantahala Outdoor Center for some refreshment. Found out that Wayah road is having work done, so it was FULL of those nasty little loose gravely things. Ick! (Way to ruin a great road, DOT) Here's hoping it's finished by spring.

The Saturday late Dragon runs were almost entirely dry and one lone LEO in the used-to-be gravel lot. Nice!

We ran into a few other S2Ks, but except for GrandMasterKahn, they did not seem to want to acknowledge our group (can you blame them?) . Sure hope no one was there that felt left out. There were quite a few other small car groups there; it was interesting to see Deal's Gap lot full of cars and only 1 or 2 bikes of any description.

Sunday was clear and beautiful. Had breakfast at the Gap then a completely clean and dry run down and back before packing up the cabin to head home. my2kS2k had a draining battery issue, so sadly, had to pull over near Asheville and have his car towed to the Honda dealership. Here's hoping you get her fixed and back home soon! (Keep us posted!)

I only got a few pics, but my iThing is not cooperating this moring to upload. I think sheadlee got a bunch of them; I'm sure he'll post later.

Thanks again for a great ending to the season!

Sheila, I enjoyed your recap. Makes me sorry that I missed it but I did get to spend time with my grandsons this weekend so there are compensations.

See y'all at WTD.

Dressed2Kill: We saw you go by at Fontana and on the run back down 28. I tried to wave you down, but didn't see you again. Sorry we missed talking with you!

While McDragon may be fun, McRib is delicious!
