Thanks to all who arranged the trip to Franklin. THE HOME OF "VADSTER"

The trip started out a little slow for me as I was at the back of the pack with about a half a dozen other cars and lost the front group soon after leaving Fontana. Once we hit the four lane I tried to see if I could catch up but I realized it would most likely have to do triple digits to make that happen. So I drove the remainder of the two lane Hwy 28 pretty much alone which was fine by me as it left some time to admire the puffy clouds.

Leaving Franklin I somehow managed to get my self near the front for a very spirited ride out of town!! I thought we were getting a police escort by the local police force as he stopped to chat with our leader. (What was said?)

Those cars in front sure do run fast!! I soon felt that I should not be with these mad men and women and fell back to the rear of the second group which seemed justt right.

The police officer pulled up and asked me where we were heading....

I just pointed towards the west!

He said... probably towards Wayah Road or something like that... which was where we were heading!

Since he was a Franklin Police officer... I was hoping he wouldn't call the state police and have them waiting for us!

What I have found regarding the cars in front going fast is....

Opposites attract... likes repel each other....

With all those S2000's, we had a lot of repelling so they just pushed the front of the pack to faster speeds!!!

Mad men and women"?????

Only time we get "mad" is when we come up behind slowwww vehicles....

And what we are getting "mad" about... is that they are killing our fuel economy!!!!

Yeah... thats my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

Dang I hate I didn't get to complete this run. Thanks to Ken for taking over the "speed limit" group when Karen and I got separated! With our kids there, I had no alternative but to turn back, and the whole thing was a comedy of compounded errors. Even moreso since this may have been my last Dragon trip.

But, stuff happens. And the size of my belly tells me I really didn't need that yummy ice cream in it, anyway.

I realized that mistake late last night. I did however on the way home stop in and visit my sister who as luck would have it lives in a town just south of Nashville. That town just happen to be Franklin, Tennessee. Total distance between the two Franklins was 335 miles. I know this because my S turned 65,000 miles at Peppermint Patties and when pulling in to her drivewway 4 hours later I had 65,335.
