I think on Moonshiner (my favorite road!!!!!!).. its 55 mph!!!!!!!!!!
They've added speed limits between Fontana and Deal's Gap, but going the other way...still 55mph.

Out of curiosity, how "less-spirited" is the moderate pace group? I don't want to hold the group up but obviously want to go on as many drives as possible while I'm down there, so looking for some honest feedback. If it helps, I've driven the Dragon twice, the Talimena scenic byway once, will be doing the Spring Boston Mountain run, and hope to have at least one autocross run with an instructor before May. Thanks in advance!

Headed to the spring BMT with some friends. One thing we do at the RTD is ask that if you don't know start in the back of the drive pack and move up if needed.

I would suggest getting in the 2nd... or maybe 3rd group when it is started.

And take Bama's advice and start near the back.... the groups stop at a few places, and if you REALLY feel that you are being held up, ask to move up.

Cool, appreciate the info. Go ahead and throw me at the end of the 2nd group for now! If a third group doesn't form and I end up holding people back I'll kindly bow out of the drive

Bowing out won't be necessary. We never leave anyone behind. Organized drives are for everyone to enjoy.

Better question is... are there any straight parts?

And yes there are.... when we get on the lower part of 28 it is a 4 lane road.... and then on 74, it is 4 lane.... but we are not out to set any land speed records..... at least on the straight aways!
