Many thanks to our group drive volunteers! I've edited this post to briefly list the "planned" drives during WTD. Drive details will be in the itinerary and updates will be available throughout the event by visiting the Message Center, located in the Lodge lobby of Fontana Village.

There's still time to volunteer to lead a group Saturday afternoon, that would leave the top of Fontana dam around 1:00 (after the group lunch). If interested, you can still post here.

Do not forget there is still plenty of time to simply drive our beloved Dragon and hang out at Deals Gap! However, many folks enjoy the group drives, and we are very grateful to our volunteers.

DRIVES PLANNED:
Details will be emailed to registered attendees approximately 2 weeks before the event, but here's what we have so far:
Thursday, 4/14 (A "pre-event" drive for early arrivals)
- Afternoon drive to Gatlinburg to meet up with the OKI group for dinner & a "night" return. Leaving Fontana lodge at 2:00PM. Organizer - kgf3076
Friday, 4/15
- 8:00 - 10:00AM - "First Timers Orientation & Dragon Buddy Run"; returning to Fontana lodge ~ 10:00 AM. Organizers: Your WTD Team
- 10:30AM - 2:00PM (ish) - Moderate lunch run to Franklin, NC. Organizer - w1ngman
- 2:00 - Poker Run; an annual event! Organizer - LINESUPER
Saturday, 4/16
- 8:45 AM - "Monster Rollout" - all attendees Organizer: airgate, of course!
- Afternoon, beginning around 1:00 - Cherahola Skyway drive tentative. Organizers: Various post whores "...me (kgf3076) and Mikey and Denny and Scoots")

Come on people...... pick a route to lead.... and start the thread!

 

Going on these Friday and Saturday may have been two of my most favorite parts of the whole trip. I couldn't have done them without people willing to step up to the plate, so I hope people do.

I cant, cause it will be my first time going.

 

While that's a fair question, it would only be my second time going and I simply don't know the area well enough. If someone else came up with a route, I'd take one for the team and be a tail gunner, though.

 

This year will be my second time in the area, but I would like to help out.

I'll lead a drive on Thursday afternoon from Fontana Village to Gatlinburg to meet up with the OKI group. We'll stop for dinner at Park Grill (you can buy me dinner ). Coming back, we'll caravan with the OKI group.
