We got in about 3:30 in Mebane - an hour delay because I/85-40 was shut down for an accident, and the back way was jammed! All in all, not too bad tho. Is it time to go back yet?

Erin and I are back safely. We had an uneventful drive back on I40 after cruising the Blue Ridge Parkway, getting held up by the Lincoln Pace Car, and having a loooong lunch at the Mt. Pisgah Restaurant!

Got home about an hour ago (7PM EDT). Had to drive up to Deals Gap to retrieve the credit cards and drivers license that fell on the floor of the store (unnoticed by me at the time) whe I had my wallet out paying for some stickers during our Saturday visit. Fortunately whoever discovered them turned them over to one of the clerks. When I Saturday evening (first time I noticed them missing) one of the clerks confirmed they had em.
So after a WONDERFUL early morning drive over to the store, I took 129 SOUTH. Really nice drive, if a little milder than the dragon. Smooth sailing until I hit a downpour in Mobile, AL, but home now without further close encounters of the truck tread kind.
While I was gone my +1 and my son cleaned out and reorganized the garage where there is NOW ROOM TO PARK THE S IN IT!!!
A nice surprise to welcome me home.
Sorry for the long post but I must add a final note. This trip opened the eyes of this S2K noob to the car's true merits. The pleasure of exercising this great machine over some fantastic roads was only exceeded by the pleasure of meeting so many fantastic fellow fanatics. Thanks to Raul and ALL the organizers (Airgate is just the noisiest
and maybe the funniest) and I can't wait to see everybody again in the spring.

We got home about 3:30 after a nice quit ride. This has been the highlite of the summer for Jess and I. We had such a great time. I'll be ranting about how much fun this was for some time i'm sure. A huge thanks to Raul and everyone involved with the planning. What a great event! And thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome. It was absolutely wonderful meeting everyone and we can't wait to see you all again.
