I-40 Traffic
Good afternoon all .... 
I had the pleasure of
in North Carolina yesterday and wanted to pass along that traffic at the intersection of I-40 and I-26 both east and west bound was backed up pretty bad ..... the cause ... a couple of accidents but mainly because of road construction - 3 lanes going to 1 lane ..... I'll be heading from Greensboro to Knoxville either Wednesday or Thursday of next week (WTD) so if you have a "back way" or "non-interstate" route .... would you post it in this thread

Yeah...PLEASE someone consider posting alternatives around wherever this construction is 
. I-40 is definitely part of my driving factor and I do not look forward to running a clutch out for stop-n-go pain

. I just want to get there. So I'd personally be more interested in knowing what exit to take -- when heading westbound -- prior to the construction such that I could drive a parallel route until a town, etc. recommended to get back on I-40W again.
