BREAKING NEWS ... NC 28 will be closed at night 8 pm to 8 am between US 129 and the Fontana Dam bridge. The detour from Meadow Branch to Fontana is well marked. This will begin June 3. The detour is actually a great road if you like twisties. Watch out for some steep switchbacks.

There are closures to several Forest Service roads. Tatham Gap road from Robbinsville to Andrews is closed to through traffic, but you can still ride to the summit at Joanna Bald from Robbinsville.

Watch out for gravel on many of our roads. Recent heavy rains have increased the problem. We noted quite a bit on the mountain section of Wayah Road.

The waterfall section of Moonshiner 28 west of Highlands has been repaved and is in good shape.

 

There is a red light on the dragon now.

 

Its the flashing blue ones that concern me!
