Default Offline Maps and Navigations For ANDROID

Hello friends!

If you've ever attended one of these events, you know there is no 3/4G data. This a problem for your Google Navigation. OsmAnd is Free and an excellent alternative to having 2 devices in your window. It lets you download maps a state at a time so it no longer needs cell service to work. It can route and reroute just like any good turn by turn and also gives you access to points of interest (POI).

OsmAnd is Free but you can spring for the $3.99 paid version which gives you better offline POI support and a few less limitations. Worth reading up on but OsmAnd Free should do the trick for the 99% (1% can afford to may )

You can download it from here... https://market.andro...C5vc21hbmQiXQ..
Or
Scan this QR Code with your phone...

I will save you the trouble...

Click "Settings" >

.... Then "Offline Data" >

...."Download..." >

.... Search then select the state(s) you want to download

You don't need to download all states you may cross through. It works like any other map program (downloading as you go). I would just download the areas or states you won't have data access in (NC, TN mountains). I would use Google Navigation until you get to Fontana then use OsmAnd for those dead spots.

*PLEASE NOTE*
This is just a ver 0.7 Beta so it may be worth keeping your Tom Tom in the trunk.

I hope some of you find this useful.

Have fun and be safe!

Good luck!

For detailed downloadable maps for iPhone, I use OpenMaps pro. They have a free version with limited features as well. Allows you to "screenshot" specific maps and areas for use offline.
