I had a great time , even though it rained all weekend I'm really looking forward to September. I'm sure Sumir and I will find our way back to the Dragon late at night. And I know for sure I'll be heading back to Carabba's for dinner!
Pictures:
Despite the pouring rain in Knoxville (and almost everywhere else in the southeast), Sumir and I found nothing but dry pavement at the Dragon friday night. I witnessed the Dragon's midnight snack, a smallish bear, run across the road about 100 feet in front of me , but otherwise the Dragon was fabulous. Here we are, cooling the brakes down at DG:
Saturday brought some more clouds, and some more rain. 7 of us at the overlook (although I swear there were 8 cars there) and the Cheoah dam:
We headed for the prettiest (and possibly most useless) 37 miles of pavement I've ever seen, the Cherohala Skyway, and were promptly greeted by more rain and a bit of dense fog just to keep us on our toes:
Saturday night after dinner and some more rain, Sumir and I once again headed for drier pastures in the mountains. We encountered some fog, which looked much cooler than this picture:
We were also tailed for about 3 miles up the Foothills Parkway by officer law (sometime after 10pm - why was he there?), who had my V1 screaming loudly. We actually slowed to 25 mph for the junction in the middle. Ironically, we stopped on the way home to offer the same officer a hand in clearing a fallen tree off the parkway.
Also, see this thread for more random pictures I took during the trip to and from Knoxville.

Or a black, for that matter... Odd that of the 8 cars, we had 2 sebring silvers and 2 suzukas, but no blacks or whites.
