Afraid it’s wait for further institutions. From The Tail of the Dragon’s Facebook page a couple of hours ago -

ATTENTION: Counties in western North Carolina are shutting down all accommodations along with road closures. At this time, all accommodations in the Robbinsville, North Carolina area (Graham County) will be closed on Monday 3/23 at noon. Graham County will also be closing roads starting Friday 3/27 , only residents or those working in Graham County will be allowed in/out. This includes the Cherohala Skyway in North Carolina. The Tail of the Dragon/Killboy store and Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort (DGMR) are in Swain County, North Carolina, which currently does NOT have accommodation or road closures.

IMPORTANT.... The 11 mile section of the Dragon starts at the NC/TN state line. The eleven miles is entirely in Tennessee. We do not have clarification regarding any closures to US129 at the North Carolina/Tennessee state line - IT IS CURRENTLY OPEN.... and with less traffic btw.

If you have reservations anywhere, you need to check your destination for the latest information about closures.

As of now, the Tail of the Dragon Store will be closing today until conditions change. Our on-line store is open and all orders will be filled.

Well it looks like we are going to stay home for awhile!

 

I'll be talking to Fontana tomorrow to see about changing the date or possible cancellation. I'll keep you all informed.

 

When is the Fall Dragon run currently scheduled? Don't want the 2 to be back to back weekends.
