RTD 2022 Countdown Thread
As a sailor, I've learned to ignore the forecast until you're on the water, as the the other four-letter word WIND, often disrupts your plans for being too scarce or too strong. I've owned several ragtops just so I can drive around in nice weather, especially on the Dragon--hoping to get a good photo from Killboy this time with the top down. It's a four hour drive for me on Thursday morning, and I will be checking in at Fontana Village Thursday for the whole weekend. SO,..... if it's gonna.....RRRRAINNN.....from Friday onwards, I might do a Dragon run before noon Thursday when the forecast is sunny and warm and the asphalt is dry. I can still join the newbie ride Friday morning and looking forward to the other routes I don't think I've been on yet, including to Franklin. Looking forward to meeting you all at the buffet! I'll be enjoying the conversation with a bottle of Black Label or some other concoction afterwards, and a cigar or two, hopefully around a big fire pit!
It can't be worse than spring of 2019 right? It still shows 40 and 50 percent chance in Robbinsville so I'm hoping it will be minimal.

. You people that live close...
Wife and I made the trip this past weekend in her ND RF. Weather was pretty foul but we managed a few trips up/down the (wet) dragon. It's been a few years since I've been up there and noticed the southbound lane has some pretty nasty dips where it appears the ground beneath the road is settling. I know that area has seen a lot of rain but it really caught me off guard.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable trip and I hope the weather is better for you guys.

Just keep a positive attitude to it being sunny and dry!
