Why is it so late this year? Was in April last year and was amazing because it was so early in the season. Had many a fun fast run! Probably just need to again get up at the butt crack of dawn to sip along without traffic.

Two reasons. There was a scheduling conflict with Fontana and this was the best date that was open (the biggest reason). I wasn't too excited about going the first weekend in April when the weather can be iffy at best. The second reason (but not the main one) is that it gives the people who live up there (in the north) a better chance to attend.
