Saturday Morning Suggestion
I am assuming there will be a group meeting before everyone heads up to The Dragon just to make sure everyone has a level head. I would at least hope there would be a group meeting; anyway, I would like to suggest the following:
-Since there will be people of many different religions there - and we wouldn't want to offend anyone; I would like to suggest we have a moment of silence for the victims of the attacks on New York, Washington, D.C, and the Penn. as well as the soldiers' defending our freedom and our ability to enjoy that freedom w/ the event that will be taking place this upcoming weekend.
I think that would be a very admirable thing to do. It would also remind people that we are there to enjoy ourselves, because we have the right to do so.
Finally ...everyone please remember this is a public road - not your own personal closed race track.
Be safe!

Last year we had a "driver's meeting" outside the hotel in the morning. Mack and a few others basically ran over things to keep in mind for the drive. You hit on the main one - it's a public road, there will be other cars, lots of motorcyclists, and locals who don't intend on flying through the Dragon at mach 10. Safety is paramount for everyone having a good time, those of us who've driven it before know how much fun it can be to drive fast but also know how quickly it can bite you in the ass. There is little room for error on the Dragon during the weekends. I suspect Raul and others will express the same general things in the morning.
As for the moment of silence, I don't think you'll find any opposition. Perhaps doing it at dinner friday night might be a bit better though.

Just as in racing events, I suggest that we also have a moment of prayer (I'm a Republician so I'm not scared of offending anyone
) to ask that everyone finishes the ride safe and we all have a good time.

I'm glad you brought this up. We will be having a "driver's meet" (as usual) before we ever leave the hotel on Saturday morning. Also, we will have, what I like to call, some words before the Dragon after we drive through the Foothills Parkway.
I think a moment of silence is needed and will also be appreciated. Hope you like what we do during the event!
Raul, since we have so many cars, will you be dividing up the "moderates" and the "agressives"? (I think they called them "scenics", "agressives" and "very agressives" during Fall Colors). It seems to make it more fun when people can pick their driving style. Plus, after the first stop or 2, you know who should be in front, middle, last, etc. in your group. Just wondering........

Hmm. Bear hunting season opens the 21st. GREAT, NO HUNTERS THIS TIME!!!! Except that the BRAG gang is back again. Watch out for slow motorcyclists
Don't forget that once you go through half a dozen turns, even the "scenics" will catch up to the more pedestrian traffic. *sigh*
