Default Suggestions for Next Time

I don't really have an input as how can you change a good thing that works.

Fontana Village is fine if they keep the special rates for this event and have coffee available in the lobby.

If everyone would register early enough the event coordinators would better be able to get rooms for all of us that are close together and not spread out.

For WTD '07, we have nearly the ENTIRE resort of Fontana Village...so I think we'll be good for having lots of rooms...

We are expecting WTD '07 to be the largest S2000 gathering on the Dragon...EVER!

we need to have a large group outside group event somewhere where ALL the cars can be parked together.

A car show would work. With each member's name on a slip on the dash.

Perhaps drink and food outside. Everyone could check out all the s2000s and maybe chat and check out one anothers rides. maybe for a couple of hours? an outdoor raffle?

The fontana village is cool and all. but honestly i didnt feel comfortable just busting into my neighbor's cabin and chatting or checking out their S2000s in their driveway. it felt rude.

A large public setting would allow much more overall group involvement for more than 10 mins we spent waiting to leave like we did at DBR06.

Perhaps we could have an arranged gathering at the Dam for a photo op and shoot the breeze session - there is lots of room to park - no facilities though - juist a thought -

Airgate - your the Man! I will be trying to convince some of my Allegheny friends to make the jouney to WTD 07 - You have done a masterful job putting this event together, year after year - we all appreciate it very much!

This sounds great, I am going to make it to this one. I have been planning on a Dragon run for 5 years now and I think I am gonna hit it up this time.

Car show at the village on Friday Eve... Maybe in front of the lodge. People will see the show as they register at the village. Give away dumb prizes for best car, best stereo, best engine, etc.

I dunno, that's a LOT of prizes for all the AP1 owners, and a lot of dissapointed AP2 owners.

Perhaps some scheduled drives to some of the other roads, lead by someone familiar with the area. Last year, we did a run on the Skyway, and it was awesome, but I don't know any of the other roads. Also it was all UMW members on the run, and while I really like my UMW brotheren, it would be nice to meet some other people too. If I could sign up for a group drive with a different group, I might be interested in joining that group just to meet some new people.

I really like Fontana Villiage. The only thing I didn't care for was the parking at the cabin sites. We had three cars at our cabin, and one had to go in the "driveway" of the cabin. There was a HUGE gully to get into it, and my car scraped BAD in and out of it. I made S2000GT park there the second night, and he had the same problem. I know they have been going through renovations and improvements. This is one I would like to see.

I am considering a room in the hotel, for just this reason.

Overall, I was REALLY pleased with WTD06. It was a highlight of my year, and I am looking forward to WTD07. I do plan to come down a little earlier, and stay a little later. The drive home, straight through, is not fun. Mabey by WTD08, I can trailer the car in and rock the whole way in the pimping tow vehicle.

I wonder if the local Honda dealership will open on Sunday for a BBQ and perhaps some tech sessions. How to check/change brake pads on an S2000 might be an appropriate topic by then. I know most participats will be leaving before that, but if there are interested people, it could work.
