Hi all.

I'm coming down on Thursday, April 21st from 9 hours away. I'm looking to eat Thursday night at COAL CREEK SMOKEHOUSE in Rocky Top on the main drag. Rocky Top is just off I75. Hoping to be sitting down to a big juicy burger and fries and real ice tea around 4:00 pm or so to hit the triangle about 5. Provided i don't break down like last year.

If you're passing thru to RTD and want to get off the I75, i'll see you there. Expect a "spirited" pace, except in areas with houses where i prefer to keep the neighbors happy and my licence intact.

Hey Darcy, this is tempting. I still don't know what I'll be doing Thursday. Do you have a dinner spot picked out? Fox's is near Knoxville, which I've never been to. I need to get more info on the Devils Triangle.

I've eaten at Fox's 2 times now (check out the google maps link)- its a hole in wall type of place- actually its just a trailer that's set up as a diner- pretty sketchy actually. But the food is good.

MAYBE FOOD CHANGE- there is place in Rocky Top called Coal Creek SMOKEHOUSE- its on the main drag, a few hundred feet from where we turn to head down to Briceville. is got great reviews- I have not been there, but I love BBQ. Little more expensive than Fox's but you won't risk intestinal, er, distress at Coal Creek.

I've done Devil's triangle- this will be my 4th yr- so i'm happy to lead the drive that thursday evening. we'll do it in the counterclockwise direction from Briceville.

On the way up to dinner, consider doing the triangle clockwise, eat at Coal Creek Smokehouse, then drive the Triangle counterclockwise back to tapoca/fontana. Its a different drive in each direction.
