Thumbs down Wayah Rd.

As the description says: Does anyone has driven or will be driving Wayah Rd. at any point during the DBRX weekend? It connects 74/129 and 64 via Nantahala Lake.

From the maps it looks pretty cool.

Looks like a fun road, we should get a group together, set a time, and head out.

On our Rt 28 run to Franklin Friday, we come back that way.....

That road is a blast!!

The switchbacks going up the mountain are a blast.... along the lake is cool.... and so is the road along the big stream!!!

I would highly recommend the road!

The big stream is the headwaters if the Nantahala River -- in the sping it is clogged with trout fishermen. Wayah is on of the epic drives.

Pedro,

We drove from Fontana, via Wayah Rd, to Franklin...during our Spring McDragon...it is a great drive...if you don't get trapped by SLOW drivers.

Have fun this weekend!

I drove it at WTD. Hopefully they have fixed the bridge they were resurfacing, the pavement dropped off about 4-6in and really gave the lowered cars in my group a hard time. Other than that its a great route.

Still had gravel in the road in a lot of places, besides that, road was good.

That road is a blast.I drove it in he rain the last time and still had tons of grip. The pavement is smooth but chunky.
