Whitewater Rafting on Sunday!
I am thinking that if the weather is nice on Sunday the +1 and I will do a whitewater trip near the Dragon (She will surely be tired of driving up and down the Dragon by then), perhaps the Nolichky or French Broad rivers.
I was wondering if anyone had any firsthand experience with any tour operators in the area or any interest in a raft run. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I ran the Chatooga and Ocoee 10 or so yrs ago and had an absolute blast.
Cheers, Mike

I've done the middle ocoee twice during the fall Dragonball Run, and enjoyed it both times. Last fall, we had a ful boat of S2000 owners (well, my +1 was with us). Frankly, I'm not interested in doing it in April because I imagine the water will be rather cold, and I've swam in enough nut shrinking water for a lifetime.
I'd skip the French Broad, it's pretty tame (lame), but the Ocoee and Nolichucky should be fun. Also, the Cheoah (the river near Tapoco lodge) is being opened for the first time in a long time, but not on WTD weekend.
The outfitter I used was Nantahala Outdoor Center. Had really good guides for both trips.
