Default WTD Confusion

Im confused about WTD. Does everyone come down on Friday and stay all weekend? Is there really that much to do? What goes on other than driving on the Dragon? As you all can tell I have never been. Fill me in!

Chris,

Yes, some even come for a whole week.

Why? Not only for the Dragon, but to ride in the mountains and to see the beautiful mountains of TN / NC.

You also get to meet some great people.

I'll be coming up from Florida - that's why the mountains - on Thursday and staying until Sunday.

I do this at least 4 times a year - twice with my S2000 and twice with HD. Just to ride the Dragon // Mountains to meet new people and visit friends
.Come early and enjoy it.

S2K-Dragon summed it up pretty well.

In addition, we're going to have some group drives to areas around the Dragon this year for those that would like to see some of the area.

These will be scenic drives to area attractions.

i think one drive we took was like 1.5 - 2 hrs each way (cherohala), and we all ate at a restaurant at the bottom of the mountain. that easily killed half a day.

actually, the weekend went by pretty fast. being from IL, we pretty much got from friday late afternoon to early sunday.

As Ron stated, we are planning several group drives in the area that registrants can sign up for if you choose not to spend the day on the Dragon.

:hello

Even though I have been coming to the Dragon for many years I haver not seen it all and I think Group Rides led by someone familar with the local area is a great idea.

If possible, I'd like to sign up for "The Falls". I'm sure it has a proper name, I saw pics from DBR06 where cars were under "The Falls" a great photo op.

I'll be up Thursday night and Friday Group Rides would be good for early arrivals,
along with Group Rides for Saturday.

Enough of all that I want all to get to Fontana and the Dragon safely and ride the Dragon in a safe manner. You'll love it

Phil

I live about 30 mins away from the dragon and can't hardly stay off of it. It's addicting!!! The surrounding roads are fantastic also!
