Well if you ain't registered, you can't show up. Seriously. We will hunt you down and throw rocks at you...no...your car.

Kidding...hey, keep checking...folks are bound to drop off...a few extra shirts will be available, so you may be in luck.

There really aren't any more rooms available. What are our choices? Is there a camping area, or is there an "unofficial" secondary hotel where S2Kers are staying?

Is Tyson/McGhee airport fairly close? There should be accomodations there?
Nice S.

As for Tyson/McGhee, yeah...figure about 45-60 minutes from that area to the DRAGON. We have used this area in the past for our events, but for this year's WTD, we wanted to be even closer to the attraction.

Consider Robbinsville, NC as it is only about 30 minutes away. It is a bit on the rural side, but they do have some accomodations and a MicroTel.

Oh...and visit www.tailofthedragon.com and look at the available lodges, cottages, rooms, etc they have advertised. Chances are, you can find some really nice offerings that will be pretty close to Fontana. And remember, the locals in this area all know where everything is at...so just ask 'em. They can give you an idea on how far their INN is from Fontana or the Dragon...then, take that time and cut 20 minutes from it to allow for S2000 driving.

Good luck!

I'm not exactly sure how far the airport is from Fontana, maybe an hour? (Someone help me here.) However, I'm willing to bet there will be some cancellations as the date gets closer. You might want to keep checking back with Fontana occasionally.
